World Junior Championship

January 7, 2009:

Today I sent off a suggestion on how the IIFA could expand and still present a great product on the ice.

Suggestion:

Have Canada send 3 teams to the world juniors instead of one. This to include an all-star team from the WHL, the OHL and the Quebec majors.

A simple suggestion, that has nothing but positive possibilities for Canadian Hockey.

Imagine showcasing more junior hockey players. Giving them that needed experience before they turn professional. Getting more Canadian fans involved...if that be possible. The sponsorship would increase.

This year the OHL was unable to include their top goal scorer at the time in Brian Cameron and their questionably top goalie in Mike Murphy, because of the numbers game. Both were drafted by the NHL and both come from one OHL franchise team. So that tells me we can compete at a top level with this suggestion.
