The New NHL???

February 28, 2008

Based on the present way salaries are skyrocketing one has to wonder why the lock-out was lifted in the 1st place......players have absolutely no consideration for the fan and the management are not providing the fan with stability, which is very important to the game. I laugh when I see players saying they will not sign, using the team is not heading in the right direction as the reason...we all know the reason is "MONEY"....greed has become on intricate part of the game.....at one time it was allegiance to the team.....I can't say I blame them, for they know not what they do....as they are self-centered individuals, holding teams for ransom, when all the hockey Gods have to do is not give them a place to play for money....fans know what it's all about, "the game", and fans will make stars out of the best players at that time...it's not just the player that makes the superstar, it's the fans and the media.....AGAIN 4-on-4 hockey is the only way to get salaries back in line, for it addresses "SUPPLY & DEMAND". This would put players like the underachieving Marion Hossa in a less bargaining position and address having him paid accordingly.

It's still the same old shit........only this time the players are getting a more reasonable salary considering the effort they put forth!!!!

Some of the new rule changes....especially in regards to obstruction is allowing the little guy to show his stuff.......and a fan will always hope for the little guy to excel over the big.......this gives all hope in the real world.......

The shoot-out??????.....what a waste of time that is......it proves absolutely NOTHING!!!...for the entire game one is trying to get a shot on goal and the shoot-out hands the puck to a few choice players to have that advantage......an advantage that really doesn't warrant comment....I mean who cares if you score or not?????....it proves absolutely nothing, as anyone can score on a goalie, if given enough opportunities.........but not everyone can make it to the net during the heat of a game and find the back of the net.......that my friend takes talent.......I watched Toronto and Ottawa play their first two games against each other.......they played even up for 130 minutes (including overtime)......yet Ottawa wins twice by way of the shoot-out......does this really make them the better team?????......does this make Hasek the best goalie when the chips are down?????.....if so why did Roy have more cups in the same years they played together???.....Is Ottawa shooters better than other teams????...if so where are they in the scoring, when it really counts........seems to be a lot of "Hullabaloo" about nothing....eh!!

Now that the league has decided to open up the game......4-on-4 is even more important to implement for the entire game.........it will weed out the riff-raff and allow the better players to get the much needed icetime required to strut their stuff and give the fans the entertainment they deserve.......it will allow the management more flexiblilty in usage of the salary cap.....it is good business sense and a neccessary if the game is going to continue to excel...

Mark my word............all of these changes are masked by the players playing under these changes, attempting to sell the game to us.......NEW????......nothing is new, it's just a camoflage for the time being and will eventually become old hat......right now fans are just glad to see the game back.......but before season's end......they will realize....the only change is in the players salary........and with the same amount of players in the game........the comfort zone is still there, which means they have no reason to live and breathe the game, which is a requirement to get the required fan interest........

One more question on the shoot-out...........if it's so great.......why is it not going to be allowed in the play-offs?????.........seems to me.....how you get there.......should determine how you finish the year.......this is proof to me that the shoot-out is even considered by those who implemented the stupidity, not a team thing......eh!!!
