Scotty Bowman Likes It...

It sure was refreshing to hear Scotty Bowman on CBC's "after fourty minutes on Saturday ......when asked how to improve the game he endorsed 4-on-4 hockey as a better entertainment and more exciting game of hockey...... Scotty Bowman..... one of the games best mentors....... he joins a GROWING list of others...... others such as..... Ken Dryden....a great student of the game and a man who can make things happen...... Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, Bob Cole, Chris Cuthbert, Don Cherry.....big names in the game..... and there are many others..... such as...Ken King of the Calgary Flames, Dave Hodge, Michael Lansberg and some of their TSN buddies....who talk a great game.....for they know it's a game that needs change and are not afraid of change.....especially when it's for the betterment of the game......

I know if the league asked the players who should be in the league if they are in favour of that concept they would get a majority for it......when the players association fails to give it the okay.....they like many other unions are going to be against it because it will eliminate those members who should not be in the league anyway.....not because they shouldn't be there.....but because they might lose members........well.....if they don't soon sanction it....they will lose teams and members.....they will also continue to lose more stars to injury.

The league has diluted the product with players who simply don't belong. They made the game better by opening it up to the world.....but instead of fine tuning it they simply wanted to fill in the gaps. I look at 4-on-4 hockey as a form of "Corporate Downsizing" to get the best for all concerned.

It's going to happen sooner or later......So why not sooner than later????....eh!
